Claressa Shields against a daring novice

London Olympic Champion and winner of the 2014 World Championships American athlete Claressa Shields easily won in her second match in Astana within the weight class up to 75 kilograms, defeating Nafisakhon Askarova (Uzbekistan).

With her impressive technology and her set right-hander Shields made her opponent shake every now and then, and the latter did not even know how to beat the famous champion. Askarova exerted herself, but Shields had an undeniably higher class. The American athlete has already secured her part in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, but still puts the highest goal - to become a World Champion again.

On her way now is Violetta Knyazeva who is taking part for the first time in such a large-scale event. First, the 19-year-old athlete beat Caitlin Parker from Australia, though she did it with great difficulty, and then she left no chances to Lucia Perez from Argentina.

- Each battle in this competition makes me stronger, - says Knyazeva. – I understand that my next opponent will be a prominent champion, but I rely on my home audience, because their support inspires me to great deeds.

Whether Shields will manage to break the resistance of the daring novice we will find out very soon. However, it is clear now that the fight is going to be serious.
